Terms Of Purchase And Refund Policy

We are so glad you have considered purchasing a product or service from us here at Becoming Wiser, LLC (dba Precision Book Editing), hereinafter referred to as “us”. Your satisfaction is very important to us!

These Terms of Purchase and Refund Policy apply to all purchases you make from us via our website, over the phone, in person, or in any other manner.

Sales of Our Programs And Services

All our programs and services are aimed at helping you achieve certain results in your book creation, editing, and publishing process. However, we cannot and do not guarantee any specific outcome or that you will achieve any particular goal. Any informational programs and services we provide to you, whether via free resources through this site or our social media channels or through paid programs and services, are just that: information. You are solely responsible for what you do with any of the information and services we provide and any outcomes that result. Furthermore, any testimonials of other clients who have used our services or programs are no guarantee of your own success but are simply provided as examples of what others have experienced.

Payment Terms

Editing and Formatting Services: A 50% deposit is required upfront to secure your project on our schedule and to begin work. The remaining 50% is due before project completion, prior to the delivery and/or upload of final files.

All Other Services: Full payment (100%) is required upfront.

Cancellation, Refund, & Rejection Policy

Manuscript Rejection: If a project is declined after review, the Client will receive a refund of any deposit paid, minus a $100 nonrefundable administrative fee to cover the time and care invested in evaluating the manuscript and processing intake materials. This fee may be waived if the decline was simply due to our availability or an unexpressed reason.

Client Cancellation Before Work Begins: If you cancel your project before work has commenced, you may receive a refund at our discretion, minus a $100 administrative fee.

Client Cancellation After Work Has Begun: If you cancel after work has started, no refund will be issued.

No-Show & Late Cancellation Policy for Scheduled Sessions: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a live session, phone call, or other scheduled meeting. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or fail to attend a scheduled session (such as KDP setup, copyright registration assistance, or project consultations), a
$50 cancellation fee per incident will apply.

Project Inactivity & Final Payment: If the Client becomes non-responsive to our communication attempts and fails to respond to our requests for feedback or otherwise delays the project for more than 30 days after receiving deliverables, feedback requests, or drafts/edits, Precision Book Editing reserves the right to consider the project inactive. In such cases, the remaining balance will be due immediately and will be charged to the payment method on file. If that is not possible, a final invoice will be issued, and it is the Client's responsibility to pay the invoice immediately. Once payment is received, the project will be closed with no further obligation on the part of Precision Book Editing. Work completed up to that point will be delivered as-is, and no additional rounds of editing or revisions will be guaranteed unless rescheduled and repriced as a new project.

Payment Plans

If you purchase a product or service utilizing a payment plan, you are responsible for all agreed-upon payments. If any payments are not timely received, the entire purchase will be void and no payments will be refunded, either in part or in full. If you use a third-party lender, even one suggested by us or listed on our website, you agree that you will perform your own due diligence and further acknowledge that we make no endorsement or recommendation of any lender, nor do we offer any financial advice.

Contractual Obligations

All services rendered through Precision Book Editing are subject to your customized Master Service Agreement (MSA), a contractual agreement established at the beginning of the project. While the terms contained herein on this site are intended not to contain any conflicts with the MSA, the MSA is a binding contract and supersedes any general guidance found on this website or otherwise. Please review the terms of the MSA carefully before signing.

When You Buy from an Affiliate

We make no representations of any kind as to the products and services of any of our affiliates. Any purchase made through a third-party affiliate is subject to the affiliate’s own terms and conditions.

Name and Likeness Permission & Release

You agree that if you attend an event or meeting online, you give us permission to audio and video record and photograph you, and to use your name, likeness, audio, video, and photograph of you for any purpose, in any manner, in any medium, now known or hereafter developed. You irrevocably grant to us the rights to use your name, likeness, and any audio/video recordings of you without further payment and without the option for you to review the final product.

Force Majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay of performance if caused by an act of God; hostility; telecommunication outage; government restrictions; a pandemic; or other event outside of our reasonable control.
